The NEW BIG 3 - MERCURY, Sun + Rising Sign - some people love you and some people love to hate you

What does the world "persona" mean? It is the aspect of a persons character that is presented to or perceived by others.

This is why when we meet someone we may feel that they have a misunderstanding of who we actually are as a person. One of my best friends and I didn't get along at all when we first met.

When others experience your persona for the first time, it can go one of a few different ways.

1. They perceive you to be close to or "exactly" the person you believe you are.

2. They perceive you to be one way in particular when you believe you're not.

3. They perceive you to be not a particular way when you believe you are.

Astrologically, why does this happen and how can I figure out how mine is working for or against me?

I believe that the main aspects of your Persona are

1. Mercury

2. Rising

3. Sun

After that I believe that our personality is further refined for for people who penetrate our deeper layers

4. Moon

5. Venus

6. MC/IC (at work and home)

Rarely will someone get to know your Venus. Only your closest family and friends get to know your Moon.

When I first started studying astrology, I was very confused as to what a "rising sign" was.

I wasn't confused as to WHY it was called the rising sign - that seemed pretty clear.

But I didn't understand how it functioned in my every day life. Which is pretty frustrating, considering that it took me 12 years of reading vague, anti-actionable descriptions as to what the rising sign was.

Here are the "short definitions" of what the top 5 results are from a google search of "What is a rising sign astrology"

1. The ascendant is the astrological sign that is ascending on the eastern horizon at the specific time and location of an event. According to certain astrological theories, celestial phenomena reflect or influence human activity on the principle of 'as above, so below'. (Wikipedia)

2. "The rising marks the beginning of your first house, which signifies the native’s self, physical body, character, and appearance," Viera says. "It's your personality, your build, the first things people notice about you." (Allure mag)

3. Rising sign is your social personality [I personally disagree with this...?]. It is how you dawn [cute] on people as it relates to the zodiac sign that was on the Eastern horizon when you were born. Your rising sign represents your physical body and outward style. (mindbodyonline).

4. [Your] rising sign is said to indicate the outer you and how other people perceive you. In some ways, your rising sign is a mask that you wear, hiding your true inner self until you get to know someone on a deeper level. (Elle Australia)

5. It also bears noting that the ascendant always lands in your first house, which is all about your personal brand — the first impression you give people, the way you take the reins in life, how you first formed your self-image early in life, as well as your physical appearance. (InStyle)

While I was learning, I found it difficult to move past the part where I just read random {opinion!} articles about what having a [blank] rising sign meant. For me - serious, diligent, responsible, cautious.

Essentially every one seemed to reminded me that the most important aspects for my personality were "Sun Moon and Rising! You know the BIG THREE! 🤪 " That would make my major aspects of my personality Taurus/Scorpio/Capricorn.

These don't really accurately describe who I am to the world at large on a daily basis especially in relation to and interacting with others.

Now, I believe that there should be articles about all of the planets, all the signs, all the houses, all the techniques -- keep them coming! -- but if you're talking about personality astrology MERCURY SHOULD BE ON THE TOP OF THE LIST?

The persona is the combination of your Sun sign (core, non-negotiables, base layer -- like a tree trunk), Mercury (Communicating style and preferences and mind - a branch) and Rising Sign (a branch) -- here is where everyone likes to call it the "mask" -- and in fact I think 4 out of the 5 of the articles we referenced earlier called it 'The mask you wear'. Elle even said it was how you hide your true self.

Truthfully, this "mask" concept confused the fuck out of me for ages. I thought it really was a fake aspect of myself that was hiding my true self. SCOUNDREL -- making my life complicated and CONFUSING.

The issue is that the rising sign is NOT a fake version of you, it's a very real aspect of your life that influences every single tangled web we weave in our entire lifespan.

In fact, it is a very real version of you that people get attached to, come to build expectations around, and influences your motivation and likely describes how you wish you were -- and if your Sun, Mercury, and Rising sign are all expressing in ways that are conflicting, you'll be met with conflict, confusion, frustration, and irritation in personal relationships will abound.

📖🔏But for you, it's time to get our your journal and start asking yourself:

❔How is my rising sign interacting with my sun sign, and my mercury sign?

❔What qualities do they have in common, and where do they conflict?

❔What are the ways that they are communicating harmoniously with my outside world?

❔ In what ways are they communicating in a conflicting way with my outside world?

❔Who am I at work? Who am I with my partner? Who am I with my best friend? Who am I with my family? Who am I when I'm with strangers?

❔Do I love every single one of these versions of myself?

❔How will your life change once you've picked the version of you that you want to be "full time"?

Every version of you is completely valid, but you'll like spending time as some of them more than others.

Analyzing the persona is the first but merely only one part of my three month one-on-one program Using Astrology for Late Stage Beginners.

This one-on-one program with me is for the driven individual who is open to the mystical and either doesn’t know much about astrology or has some understanding but doesn’t know how to effectively apply it. They keep finding themselves feeling blocked in one or more areas of their life - almost as though they’re swimming against the current and can’t figure out why it’s so hard to just get to where they want to go. They’d like to be able to use their chart in a way that aligns them with their purpose in all areas of their life and to be given the tools to decipher their chart, learn their genius zones and apply it to their long term life goals, relationships, work life balance, emotional health and sense of fulfillment. While making the journey there far more easeful.

You won’t have to read a million philosophical books, spend hours on general forecasts, or even spend years or a decade on courses to get real returns on this information
